ELECTRIC WATER PUMP INSPECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5]

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Start the engine and warm it up.

3.  Access the PID/DATA monitor item E_WP and simulation item E_WP using the M-MDS. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

4.  Verify that the PID/DATA monitor item E_WP monitor value increase during the simulation item E_WP is increased using the M-MDS.

•  PID E_WP value does not increase:

―  Go to the next step.

•  PID E_WP value increases:

―  Electric water pump is normal.

5.  Inspect the following:

•  Electric water pump damage

•  Electric water pump connector damage or corrosion

―  If there is any malfunction, repair or replace the malfunctioning part.

―  If there is no malfunction, replace the electric water pump. (See ELECTRIC WATER PUMP REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)
