Description

Abnormal CD player or DVD/CD player temperature

Detection condition
•  With the ignition switched ON (engine off or on), the connectivity master unit (CMU) detects an abnormally high temperature condition in the CD player or DVD/CD player.
Fail-safe function
CD/DVD playback stopped.
Possible cause
Caution
•  If the CD player or DVD/CD player is used for long periods in a hot environment, the temperature of the CD player or DVD/CD player will increase and a DTC may be output. The CD player or DVD/CD player should not be used continuously for long periods with the cabin under high temperature conditions from being left under direct sunlight.
•  Temperature increase due to continuous use for long periods.
•  CD player or DVD/CD player malfunction

VERIFY IF CD PLAYER OR DVD/CD PLAYER TEMPERATURE WAS TEMPORARILY HIGH
•  Clear the DTC for the connectivity master unit (CMU) using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 7 s or more.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU) using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Leave the vehicle in a cool location for 30 min or more, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 3.

VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the connectivity master unit (CMU) using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 7 s or more.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU) using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the CD player or DVD/CD player, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER DTCs
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
