ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER INSPECTION

id092300000600

1.  Connect the M-MDS to the DLC-2.

2.  Perform the KOEO or KOER self-test for the PCM using the M-MDS and verify that PCM DTC P05A0:00, P059F:00, P05C0:00, P05A3:00, or U0284:00 is not output. (See KOEO/KOER SELF TEST [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

•  If PCM DTC P05A0:00, P059F:00, P05C0:00, P05A3:00, or U0284:00 is output, perform the applicable DTC inspection. (See DTC TABLE [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

3.  Inspect the active air shutter for foreign material penetration, shutter distortion, sticker adhering, or excessive soiling visually or by touching with a hand.

•  If there is any malfunction, repair the malfunctioning location.

4.  Using the M-MDS simulation function (simulation item: AIRSHUT_DSD), force operate the active air shutter. (See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].)

Note
•  If the active air shutter fully open/closed position learning is not completed, the active air shutter cannot be forcibly operated. If the active air shutter is to be forcibly operated, perform the active air shutter fully open/closed position learning.
•  If the active air shutter does not operate, replace the active air shutter. (See ACTIVE AIR SHUTTER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
