PCM processor error

DETECTION CONDITION

•  The following conditions are met:

―  Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on).

―  Data related to the immobilizer system fails to write to the non-volatile memory in the PCM.

―  The code related to the immobilizer system stored in the non-volatile memory cannot be read normally.

Diagnostic support note

•  This is an intermittent monitor (other).

•  The check engine light does not illuminate.

•  FREEZE FRAME DATA is not available.

•  Snapshot data is available.

•  DTC is stored in the PCM memory.

FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION

Not applicable

POSSIBLE CAUSE

•  Error in non-volatile memory in PCM (error in non-volatile memory related to immobilizer system in PCM)

Repeatability Verification Procedure

1. Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2. Start the engine.

VERIFY RELATED SERVICE INFORMATION AVAILABILITY

•  Verify related Service Information availability.

•  Is any related Service Information available?

Yes

Perform repair or diagnosis according to the available Service Information.

•  If the vehicle is not repaired, go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY PCM DTC

•  Clear the DTC from the PCM memory using the M-MDS.
(See CLEARING DTC [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

•  Implement the repeatability verification procedure.
(See Repeatability Verification Procedure.)

•  Perform the DTC Reading Procedure.
(See ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTIC TEST [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

•  Is the same DTC present?

Yes

Replace the PCM, then go to the next step.

No

Go to the next step.

VERIFY AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE

•  Perform the “AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE”.
(See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

•  Are any DTCs present?

Yes

Go to the applicable DTC inspection.

No

DTC troubleshooting completed.
