DTC P2227:00

BARO sensor circuit range/performance problem

DETECTION CONDITION
•  With the following conditions met, a condition has continued for 1.8 s within 4 to 6 s after the ignition was switched OFF in which difference between the barometric pressure and intake air pressure is 50 kPa {0.51 kgf/cm2, 7.3 psi} or more and difference between the barometric pressure and exhaust gas pressure is 50 kPa {0.51 kgf/cm2, 7.3 psi} or more.
MONITORING CONDITIONS
―  Battery voltage: 10 V or more
―  The following DTCs are not detected:
•  MAP sensor: P0106:00
•  Intake shutter valve: P1589:00
•  BARO sensor: P2228:00, P2229:00
Diagnostic support note
•  This is a continuous monitor (CCM).
•  The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
•  PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/Snapshot data is available.
•  DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
•  Inhibits the EGR control.
•  The fast idle up correction for the idle speed control is inhibited.
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
•  Malfunction in the following sensors
―  MAP sensor
―  Exhaust gas pressure sensor No.1
•  PCM restricts engine-transaxle integration control.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  BARO sensor (built-into PCM) malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
