FLYWHEEL INSPECTION [C66M-R]

SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0

1.  Remove the flywheel. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].)

2.  Perform the following procedure to inspect the flywheel.

•  If there is any malfunction or it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the flywheel. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].)

(1)  Inspect the surface that contacts the clutch disc for scratches, nicks, and discoloration.

•  Correct slight scratches and discoloration using sandpaper.

(2)  Inspect the ring gear teeth for damage and wear.

•  If there is any malfunction, replace the flywheel.

(3)  Inspect the runout of the surface that contacts the clutch disc.

1)  Install the flywheel. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].)

2)  Measure the runout of the surface that contacts the clutch disc using a dial gauge.

Flywheel maximum runout

0.1 mm {0.004 in}

•  If it exceeds the maximum specification, replace the flywheel. (See CLUTCH UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [C66M-R].)
