DETECTION CONDITION	•  C200D:1C ―  Malfunction detected in resolver sensor internal circuit •  C200D:64 ―  Signal error detected in resolver sensor signal •  U2011:19, U2011:1C, U2011:62, U2011:72 ―  Malfunction detected in EPS motor internal circuit •  U2011:92 ―  Malfunction detected in EPS motor internal circuit in the backup control
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION	•  C200D:1C ―  Control is maintained in the backup control (if EPS system internal temperature increases, the assist force gradually weakens) ―  Power steering malfunction indicator light: Flashes (0.5 Hz) ―  Power steering warning buzzer: sounds intermittently (0.5 Hz) •  If EPS system internal temperature increases above the specified value, the flashing interval for the power steering malfunction indicator light and the power steering warning buzzer sound interval are shortened (from 0.5 Hz to 2.0 Hz) •  If EPS system internal temperature increases further, the power steering malfunction indicator light switches from flashing to illumination and the power steering warning buzzer sounds continuously •  If EPS system overheating continues, the EPC CM disables assistance and stops the power steering warning buzzer (the power steering malfunction indicator light remains illuminated) •  C200D:64, U2011:19, U2011:1C, U2011:62 ―  Control disabled ―  Power steering malfunction indicator light: Illuminated •  U2011:72 ―  An open circuit malfunction is detected in the one phase of the three-phase stator in the EPS motor •  Control is maintained in the backup control ―  Other malfunction detected in EPS motor internal circuit •  Control disabled ―  Power steering malfunction indicator light: Illuminated •  U2011:92 ―  Control disabled ―  Power steering malfunction indicator light: Illuminated
POSSIBLE CAUSE	•  Malfunction in internal steering column, EPS motor

Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	VERIFY DTC •  Clear the DTC from the memory. (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.) •  Verify if any DTCs are displayed. (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.) •  Is the same DTC present?	Yes	Replace the EPS CM (EPS motor). (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT •  Are any other DTCs output? (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)	Yes	Go to the applicable DTC inspection. (See ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) ON-BOARD DIAGNOSIS.)
		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
