Diagnostic Procedure

Step	Inspection		Action
1	PERFORM DTC INSPECTION AND VERIFY START STOP UNIT MALFUNCTION • Clear the DTC for the immobilizer system using the M-MDS. (See CLEARING DTC [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM].) • Retrieve the immobilizer system DTCs using the M-MDS. (See DTC INSPECTION [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM].) • Is the security indicator light: 09, DTC U3000:96/P1260:00 displayed?	Yes	Repeat the inspection from Step 1. • If the malfunction recurs, replace the start stop unit. (See START STOP UNIT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.) Go to the next step.
1		No	Go to the next step.
2	VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED • Are any other DTCs displayed?	Yes	Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting. (See DTC TABLE [IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM].)
2		No	DTC troubleshooting completed.
