Description

Incompatible disc inserted

Detection condition
•  With the ignition switched ON (engine on or off), the connectivity master unit (CMU) detects a disc having a data format that is incompatible with the CD player or DVD/CD player.
Fail-safe function
Eject a disc.
Possible cause
•  Disc malfunction or malfunction due to customer use method
―  Use of incompatible disc
•  Data format other than music data (CD-DA)/MP3/WMA (Windows Media Audio)/AAC (Advance Audio Coding) is stored in the disc.
•  Data format other than music data (CD-DA)/MP3/WMA (Windows Media Audio)/AAC (Advance Audio Coding)/DVD VIDEO/DVD-VR is stored in the disc.
―  Use of blank disc
―  Disc insertion direction mistaken
―  Disc scratched or dirty
•  CD player or DVD/CD player internal malfunction

VERIFY IF MALFUNCTIONING LOCATION IS DISC
•  After obtaining the customer's consent, insert a disc that was not used when the malfunction occurred into the CD player or DVD/CD player.
•  Does the disc play normally?
Yes
System is normal. (Explain to the customer that there is a malfunction in the disc or malfunction due to the customer use method.)
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT CD PLAYER OR DVD/CD PLAYER
•  Clear the DTC for the connectivity master unit (CMU) using the M-MDS.
•  Perform diagnostic assist code “01” CD player or DVD/CD player inspection.
•  Perform the DTC inspection for the connectivity master unit (CMU) using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Replace the CD player or DVD/CD player, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY OTHER DTCs
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning location according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
