Description

Low remote transmitter battery voltage

Detection condition
•  Start stop unit detects the low remote transmitter battery voltage in any of the programmed transmitters 3 times continuously.
Fail-safe function

Possible cause
•  Dirt around remote transmitter battery, or foreign matter adhering
•  Remote transmitter battery power low
•  Specific remote transmitter is malfunctioning.

Diagnostic Procedure

1.  Verify the TRANS_NUM_L of the snapshot data item and then the registration number of the remote transmitter in which low battery voltage was detected.

2.  Using the M-MDS, display the PID item RF_TRANS_NUM for the start stop unit.

3.  Press the unlock button of the remote transmitter to verify the registration numbers of all the programmed remote transmitters.

4.  Perform the remote transmitter diagnostic procedure using the remote transmitter corresponding to the registration number of the remote transmitter detected using the snapshot data. (See Remote Transmitter Diagnostic Procedure.)

INSPECT AREA AROUND REMOTE TRANSMITTER BATTERY
•  Inspect the area around the remote transmitter battery.
•  Is the area around the remote transmitter battery dirty or is there foreign mattering adhering?
Yes
Remove dirt or foreign matter, then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

INSPECT REMOTE TRANSMITTER BATTERY POWER
•  Inspect the battery power of the remote transmitter.
•  Does the KEY indicator light (green) flash for approx. 30 s?
Yes
Note
•  If the KEY indicator light (green) flashes for approx. 30 s, the battery power of the remote transmitter is low.
Replace the remote transmitter battery, then go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 4
3
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear the DTC for the start stop unit using the M-MDS.
•  Retrieve the start stop unit DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC displayed?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the remote transmitter.
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
•  Are any other DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
