WATER-COOLED CHARGE AIR COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5]

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Remove the intake manifold and intake shutter valve, and the water-cooled charge air cooler as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

3.  Remove the water-cooled charge air cooler from the intake manifold.

4.  Install in the reverse order of removal. (See Water-cooled Charge Air Cooler Installation Note.)


Water-cooled Charge Air Cooler Installation Note

1.  Apply engine oil to position shown in figure.

2.  Temporarily tighten the bolts shown in the figure.

3.  Tighten the bolts shown in the figure.

Tightening torque
2.5—5.5 N·m {26—56 kgf·cm, 23—48 in·lbf}

4.  Tighten the bolts shown in the figure.
