HP-EGR Control Valve Replacement Procedure
1. If the HP-EGR control valve is replaced, perform the following procedure.

Start the engine.

Depress the accelerator pedal and race the engine (hold at 2000 rpm for 5 s).

Release the accelerator pedal and idle the engine.

Switch the ignition off.

Wait for 20 s or more.

6
|
Perform KOEO self-test procedure.

7
|
Perform KOER self-test procedure.

HP-EGR Control Valve Removal /Installation
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)
2. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)
3. Remove the engine cover. (See ENGINE COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)
4. Remove the EGR pipe. (See EGR PIPE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)
5. Remove in the order shown in the figure.

6. Install in the reverse order of removal.

1. Disconnect the wiring harness clip and hose clip shown in the figure from the HP-EGR pipe.

2. Remove the HP-EGR pipe.

1. Install the HP-EGR pipe.
2. Connect the wiring harness clip and hose clip shown in the figure.

Water hose installation note
1. Install water hose as shown in the figure.
