OIL COOLER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [FN4A-EL]

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].)
2. Remove the air cleaner and air hose as a single unit. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [MZR 1.6].)
3. Remove the front under cover No.2. (See FRONT UNDER COVER No.2 REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)
4. Drain the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [FN4A-EL].)
5. Drain the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR 1.6].)
6. Remove in the order indicated in the table.

7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
8. Add the engine coolant. (See ENGINE COOLANT REPLACEMENT [MZR 1.6].)
9. Add the ATF. (See AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE FLUID (ATF) REPLACEMENT [FN4A-EL].)
10. Perform the “Mechanical System Test”. (See MECHANICAL SYSTEM TEST [FN4A-EL].)
Oil Hose (oil pipe side) Installation Note
1. Align the marks on the hose and the pipe so that they are in a straight line.

2. The marks on the hose and the pipe are within range A shown in the figure.
3. If the hose does not insert easily, use ATF as a lubricating agent.
4. Wipe off the ATF remaining on the hose and pipe after installing the hose.
5. The hose clamp is within the marked area of the hose.

6. The hose clamp installation direction is within range B shown in the figure.
7. Install the hose clamp onto the hose.
|
8. Verify that the hose clamp does not interfere with any other components.
Oil Hose (connector bolt side) Installation Note
1. Install the oil hose with the mark face side upward.
2. The marks on the hose are within range A shown in the figure.

3. If the hose does not insert easily, use ATF as a lubricating agent.
4. Wipe off the ATF remaining on the hose and connector bolt after installing the hose.
5. The hose clamp is within the marked area of the hose.

6. The hose clamp installation direction is within range B shown in the figure.
7. Install the hose clamp onto the hose.

8. Verify that the hose clamp does not interfere with any other components.
