• Instrument cluster received the error signals from the transmission/transaxle for 1 s or more with the ignition switched ON (engine off or on).

• The transaxle could not send a normal signal temporarily. (DTCs are stored in the TCM.)
• TCM malfunction

VERIFY TCM DTCs
• Retrieve the TCM DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Are any DTCs displayed?

|
DRIVE VEHICLE THEN VERIFY DTCs FOR TCM AGAIN
• Drive the vehicle at a vehicle speed of 30 km/h {19 mph} or more for 100 s or more.
• Retrieve the TCM DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Are any DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
|
No
|
Go to the next step.

|
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
• Clear the DTC for the instrument cluster using the M-MDS.
• Switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) and wait for 20 s or more.
• Retrieve the instrument cluster DTCs using the M-MDS.
• Is the same DTC displayed?

Yes

Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
• If the malfunction recurs, replace the instrument cluster.
Go to the next step.

VERIFY IF OTHER DTCs DISPLAYED
• Are any other DTCs displayed?

Yes

Repair or replace the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
