Description

Note
1.  If the vehicle is jump started, leave the jumper connected until the warning message is no longer displayed.
2.  If vehicle is driven while the warning is displayed, a warning sound will be heard and power steering assist will be limited.
•  “i-ELOOP changing” is indicated in the display frequently.

Possible Cause

Capacitor (i-ELOOP) voltage is low

•  Vehicle is left for a long period
•  Capacitor (i-ELOOP) malfunction (if DTC is not detected)

i-ELOOP-related part wiring harness malfunction

•  Independently and frequently displayed DTC

Instrument cluster incorrect display

•  Instrument cluster malfunction

Diagnostic Procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

RESULTS

ACTION

1
VERIFY DTCs
•  Using the M-MDS, display the DTCs related to the PCM, DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP), and instrument cluster.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
2
ASK CUSTOMER
•  Ask the customer if the vehicle is left undriven for long periods frequently.
•  Does the customer tends to leave the vehicle undriven for long periods?
Yes
Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that if the vehicle is left undriven for long periods the capacitor (i-ELOOP) voltage is lowered and charging is required.
No
Go to the next step.
3
VERIFY IF CAPACITOR (i-ELOOP) HAS MALFUNCTION
•  Inspect the capacitor (i-ELOOP).
•  Is the capacitor (i-ELOOP) normal?
Yes
Inspect the instrument cluster and replace it if there is any malfunction.
No
Replace the capacitor (i-ELOOP).
