Diagnostic Procedure

STEP

INSPECTION

RESULTS

ACTION

1
VERIFY DTCs
•  Using the M-MDS, display the DTCs related to the PCM, TCM (ATX), and instrument cluster.
•  Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes
Repair the malfunctioning part according to the applicable DTC troubleshooting.
No
Go to the next step.
2
VERIFY MALFUNCTION CONDITION
•  Verify the current display condition of the display.
•  Does the i-ELOOP-related gauge in the display operate?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Go to Step 4.
3
ASK CUSTOMER
•  Was the ambient temperature low when the symptom occurred?
Yes
Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate to assure battery power supply.
No
Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate to prioritize battery charging.
4
VERIFY BYPASS MODE OPERATION CONDITION
•  Access the DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) PID BYPS_STAT using the M-MDS.
•  Is BYPS_STAT display “Bypass On”?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Inspect the instrument cluster and replace it if there is any malfunction.
5
VERIFY CAUSE OF BYPASS MODE OPERATION
•  Access the following DC-DC converter (i-ELOOP) PIDs using the M-MDS:
―  DCDC_OUT_I
―  IR_LOAD_I (with i-stop)
•  Is the sum of the DCDC_OUT_I and IR_LOAD_I monitoring values 50 A or more?
Yes
Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate because of the vehicle electrical load.
No
Go to the next step.
6
VERIFY BATTERY CHARGE CONDITION
•  Access the PCM PID BATT_SOC using the M-MDS.
•  Is BATT_SOC value less than 65%?
Yes
Explain to the customer that the vehicle is normal and that i-ELOOP does not operate to prioritize battery charging.
No
Inspect the instrument cluster and replace it if there is any malfunction.
