Resistance Inspection

Warning
•  Handling the driver-side air bag module improperly can accidentally operate (deploy) the air bag module, which may seriously injure you. Read the service warnings and cautions before handling the air bag module. (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE WARNINGS.) (See AIR BAG SYSTEM SERVICE CAUTIONS.)

1.  Switch the ignition off.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for 1 min or more. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)

3.  Remove the driver-side air bag module. (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL.) (See DRIVER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE INSTALLATION.)

4.  Remove the steering wheel. (See STEERING WHEEL AND COLUMN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Measure the resistance between cruise control switches E and A under the following conditions:

•  Resistance with MRCC OFF switch (without adjustable speed limiter)/MRCC ON/OFF switch (with adjustable speed limiter) pressed and held
―  0 ohms

•  Resistance with SET (-) switch pressed and held
―  187.605—191.395 ohms
am3zzw00015216
•  Resistance with SET (+) switch pressed and held
―  323.235—329.765 ohms
am3zzw00015217
•  Resistance with RESUME switch pressed and held
―  501.435—511.565 ohms
am3zzw00015218
•  Resistance with MRCC ON switch (without adjustable speed limiter)/speed limiter switch (with adjustable speed limiter) pressed and held
―  753.885—769.115 ohms
am3zzw00015219
•  Resistance with DISTANCE (+) switch pressed and held
―  1,139.985—1,163.015 ohms
