DTC P0089:00

High pressure malfunction in common rail fuel pressure control system

DETECTION CONDITION
•  When the following conditions are met, the actual fuel pressure exceeds 217 Mpa {2,213 kgf/cm2, 31,473 psi} for a continuous 3 s:
MONITORING CONDITIONS
―  Battery voltage: 8 V or more
―  0.5 s have elapsed after the ignition was switched ON (engine off or on)
―  The following DTCs are not detected:
•  Fuel pressure sensor: P0191:00, P0192:00, P0193:00
Diagnostic support note
•  This is an intermittent monitor (fuel system).
•  The check engine light illuminates if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition in two consecutive drive cycles or in one drive cycle while the DTC for the same malfunction has been stored in the PCM.
•  PENDING CODE is available if the PCM detects the above malfunction condition during first drive cycle.
•  FREEZE FRAME DATA (Mode 2)/Snapshot data is available.
•  DTC is stored in the PCM memory.
FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION
•  PCM restricts engine torque.
•  Inhibits engine-stop by operating the i-stop function.
•  PCM restricts engine-transaxle integration control.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
•  Fuel pressure sensor malfunction
•  Fuel filter clogged
•  Fuel pipe improper routing (improper connection)
•  Suction control valve malfunction
•  Supply pump malfunction
•  Fuel pressure relief valve malfunction
•  PCM malfunction
