FRONT BUMPER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

Caution

•  Affix the protective tape to the position (vehicle body side) shown in the figure to prevent scratches and damage.

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) 2.  Remove the screws shown in the figure.

3.  Remove the fasteners shown in the figure and slightly bend back the front mudguard.

4.  Remove the screw which can be verified at the position where the front mudguard was bent back.

5.  Remove the screws and fasteners shown in the figure.

6.  Remove the screws and fasteners which can be verified at the position where front under cover No.1 was pulled back.

7.  Remove the fresh-air duct installation bolts. (See INTAKE-AIR SYSTEM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) 8.  Remove the fastener which can be verified at the position where the fresh-air-duct was pulled back.

9.  Remove the screws and fasteners shown in the figure.

10.  Remove the set plate. (See SET PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

11.  Grasp the front bumper end, move it in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure, and remove the front bumper from the grommet.

Caution

•  The front bumper and front bumper slider are engaged firmly. If they are disengaged forcibly the bumper could fall and be damaged. Perform the servicing carefully when disengaging the front bumper from the front bumper slider.

•  When disengaging the front bumper from the front bumper slider, the front bumper could fall and be damaged. Support the front bumper so that it does not fall.

12.  Pull the rear end of the front bumper in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure and detach the front bumper from the front bumper slider while removing the tabs.

13.  Hold locations A and B shown in the figure by hand, pull the front bumper in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure, and remove the front bumper from the guides.

14.  Disconnect the connectors and wiring harness clips shown in the figure.

15.  While pressing the hook of the joint pipe in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure, pull the joint pipe in the direction of arrow (2) to disconnect the joint pipe from headlight cleaner motor.

16.  Install in the reverse order of removal.
