Without Sunglasses Holder

Single light type

Note

•  The front map light can be removed without having to remove the headliner from the vehicle.

1.  Perform the following procedure.

1.  Set the wheel blocks for both the front and rear wheels.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

3.  Shift the selector lever from the P position to the D position (ATX).

4.  Remove the sunroof seaming welt. (with sunroof system)

5.  Remove the following parts:

1.  A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  B-pillar lower trim (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Adjust anchor cover (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Upper anchor installation bolt on the seat belt (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

9.  B-pillar upper trim (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Set the tire house trim aside. (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Remove the C-pillar trim. (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Remove the headliner. (See HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5HB

1.  Set the wheel blocks for both the front and rear wheels.

2.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

3.  Shift the selector lever from the P position to the D position (ATX).

4.  Remove the sunroof seaming welt. (with sunroof system)

5.  Remove the following parts:

1.  A-pillar trim (See A-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Sunvisor (See SUNVISOR REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Assist handle (See ASSIST HANDLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Front scuff plate (See FRONT SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Rear scuff plate (See REAR SCUFF PLATE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  B-pillar lower trim (See B-PILLAR LOWER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Adjust anchor cover (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Upper anchor installation bolt on the seat belt (See FRONT SEAT BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

9.  B-pillar upper trim (See B-PILLAR UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Set the tire house trim aside. (See TIRE HOUSE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  Remove the following parts:

1.  Rear package tray (See REAR PACKAGE TRAY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Trunk covering (See TRUNK COVERING REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

3.  Trunk board (See TRUNK BOARD REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

4.  Trunk end trim (See TRUNK END TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

5.  Trunk side upper trim (See TRUNK SIDE UPPER TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

6.  Trunk side trim (LH only) (See TRUNK SIDE TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

7.  C-pillar trim (See C-PILLAR TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

8.  Headliner (See HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.)

2.  Disconnect the connector.

3.  While pressing the hooks of the front map light in the direction of arrows (1) shown in the figure, press out the front map light in the direction of arrow (2) to detach the hooks from the bracket.

Caution

•  When removing the front map light from the bracket, the front map light may fall off and be damaged. Remove the front map light from the bracket while holding the front map light on the lens side by hand.

4.  Remove the front map light.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

Dual light type

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Pull out sections A of the front map light in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and detach the clips from the bracket.

Caution

•  Be careful not to pull the connector out strongly when removing the front map light. Otherwise, the contact surface of the wiring harness secured to the headliner will come off and the wiring harness could be pulled out. If the front map light is installed with the wiring harness pulled out, the wiring harness could get caught between the headliner and front map light bracket resulting in an open or short circuit in the wiring harness.

3.  Move the front map light in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and pull out the front map light hooks from the headliner.

4.  Disconnect the connector and remove the front map light from the headliner.

Caution

•  When removing the front map light from the headliner, the front map light may fall off and be damaged. Remove the front map light from the headliner while holding the front map light on the lens side by hand.

5.  Install in the reverse order of removal.

With Sunglasses Holder

1.  Disconnect the negative battery cable. (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [MZR 1.6].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-G 1.5, SKYACTIV-G 2.0, SKYACTIV-G 2.5].) (See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 2.2].)(See NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECTION/CONNECTION [SKYACTIV-D 1.5].)

2.  Open the sunglasses holder.

3.  Remove the screws.

4.  Move the front map light in the direction of arrow (1) shown in the figure and pull out the pin from the bracket.

Caution

•  Be careful not to pull the connector out strongly when removing the front map light. Otherwise, the contact surface of the wiring harness secured to the headliner will come off and the wiring harness could be pulled out. If the front map light is installed with the wiring harness pulled out, the wiring harness could get caught between the headliner and front map light bracket resulting in an open or short circuit in the wiring harness.

5.  Move the front map light in the direction of arrow (2) shown in the figure and pull out the front map light hooks from the headliner.

6.  Disconnect the connector and remove the front map light from the headliner.
