Detection condition
•  Radar sensor axis deviation is detected.
Fail-safe
•  Inhibits the mazda radar cruise control (MRCC) system control
•  Inhibits the smart brake support (SBS) system control
•  Inhibits the distance recognition support system (DRSS) control
Possible cause
•  Radiator grille on vehicle with radar sensor not installed
•  Dirt on radiator grille ornament, modifications, application of stickers (including transparent types), scratches, or damage
•  Dirt on radar sensor, scratches, or damage
•  Impact is transmitted to area around radar sensor
•  Incorrect installation of radar sensor
•  Radar sensor malfunction
•  DSC HU/CM malfunction
•  SAS control module malfunction
•  Vehicle control module (V/C-module) malfunction

VERIFY RADIATOR GRILLE
•  Is the radiator on a vehicle with a radar sensor installed?
Yes
Go to the next step.
No
Replace the radiator grille on the vehicle with a radar sensor, then go to Step 9.

VERIFY AREA AROUND RADIATOR GRILLE ORNAMENT
•  Visually inspect the surface of the radiator grille ornament.
•  Under the following conditions?
―  Dirt is adhering to radiator grille ornament
―  Foreign material (reflective object) is adhering to radiator grille ornament
―  Radiator grille ornament is scratched or damaged
Yes
Return the surfaces of the radiator grille ornament to their normal condition, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY AREA AROUND RADAR SENSOR
•  Remove front bumper.
•  Visually inspect the surface of the radar sensor.
•  Under the following conditions?
―  Dirt is adhering to radar sensor
―  Foreign material (reflective object) is adhering to radar sensor
―  Radar sensor is scratched or damaged
Yes
Return the radar sensor to their normal condition, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

VERIFY CENTER DISPLAY INDICATION
•  Is the message indicating “SBS, MRCC, DRCC Radar Malfunction” displayed in the center display?
Yes
Switch the ignition off, leave it for 30 min to cool down the radar sensor, switch the ignition ON (engine off or on) again, and verify the message indicating “SBS, MRCC, DRCC Radar Malfunction in the center display.
“SBS, MRCC, DRCC Radar Malfunction” is not displayed
•  Go to the next step.
“SBS, MRCC, DRCC Radar Malfunction” is displayed
•  Replace radar sensor, then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.
5
VERIFY RADAR SENSOR BRACKET
•  Verify that there is no bending or damage on the radar sensor bracket.
•  Is there bending or damage on the radar sensor bracket?
Yes
Replace the radar sensor bracket and perform the aiming adjustment.
Then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR DSC HU/CM
•  Perform the DSC HU/CM DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
Then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR SAS CONTROL MODULE
•  Perform the SAS control module DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
(See DTC TABLE.)
Then go to Step 9.
No
Go to the next step.

PERFORM DTC INSPECTION FOR VEHICLE CONTROL MODULE (V/C-MODULE)
•  Perform the vehicle control module (V/C-module) DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Are any DTCs present?
Yes
Go to the applicable DTC inspection.
Then go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
9
VERIFY THAT REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED
•  Clear vehicle control module (V/C-module) DTCs using the M-MDS.
•  Switch the ignition ON (engine on).
•  Perform the vehicle control module (V/C-module) DTC inspection using the M-MDS.
•  Is the same DTC present?
Yes
Repeat the inspection from Step 1.
•  If the malfunction recurs, replace the vehicle control module (V/C-module).
Go to the next step.
No
Go to the next step.
10
VERIFY THAT NO OTHER DTCs ARE PRESENT
•  Verify other DTCs displayed.
•  Are any other DTCs output?
Yes
Perform the corresponding DTC inspection.
No
DTC troubleshooting completed.
